WhatsApp’s one-way broadcasting tool, Channels, now includes a number of additional capabilities. Mark Zuckerburg disclosed the new features on Wednesday. These include voice notes, multiple administrations, the ability to share status, and the ability to conduct surveys. The goal of all these new features is to provide consumers more opportunities to engage with WhatsApp Channels.

Zuckerberg said he was excited about these developments and that it’s especially helpful because they need help resolving a dispute. Additionally, they started a poll on their channel to determine which game is the “greatest of all time.”

WhatsApp’s new global features will include:

  • Voice Updates: The channel administrators will be able to communicate with followers more effectively by sending voice notes thanks to this much-anticipated feature. Voice notes are already exchanged on the network on an astounding 7 billion times a day, according to WhatsApp, and this addition will make voice notes a popular way of communication for Channels.
  • Polls: Internal poll generation is now possible for channels. Channel admins can now easily collect audience insights and preferences thanks to this functionality. WhatsApp’s Poll feature enables users to pose succinct questions and offer many response choices, transforming users from passive observers into engaged contributors.
  • Share to Status: Individuals may easily distribute intriguing news from their favorite Channels to their WhatsApp Status, reaching a wider audience. Users may keep informed about topics that interest them, while channel owners can see organic growth as a result of word-of-mouth referrals.
  • Multiple Admins: WhatsApp Channels has improved group administration by adding the Multiple Admins functionality. Users can expedite communication within channels with the platform’s capacity for up to 16 administrators. This makes it easier for users to stay up to date on the most recent developments by ensuring the seamless and prompt transmission of relevant information.

500 million people use WhatsApp Channels every month thanks to its most recent improvements. This portal now features profiles of well-known people like Vijay Deverakonda and Katrina Kaif, as well as companies like Mercedes F1, Netflix, and the Mumbai Indians.

With WhatsApp Channels, users may discreetly receive critical updates from people and organizations without having to access them through their personal chats. This feature is similar to the broadcast tool on Instagram.
