This year, Tata Motors has a ton of products scheduled for release. The all-electric Harrier will arrive later this year, following the Punch EV that debuted last month. The Curvv is without a doubt the company’s largest release to date. The SUV coupe was first shown in 2022 and then had its public debut at the 2023 Auto Expo.
A prototype of the same thing was on show at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, which ended recently. A Curvv test mule has recently been seen being tested on Indian roadways. The test unit had an identical appearance to the final production-spec variant and was fully visible.
Tata Curvv Spied Testing: Design
The Curvv prototype’s front fascia, which is more angular than that of Tata automobiles from earlier generations, was shown in earlier pictures. With a slim LED strip on top and dual-projector LED headlamps inside triangle clusters at the bottom, Curvv is built on the brand’s new design philosophy.
It features powerful wheel arches and stylish linked LED tail lamps from the side. A large bootlid spoiler, a shark fin antenna, and a wide track are other hallmarks.
Tata Curvv spied testing: interiors
Curvv’s cabin interiors have an all-black design with a minimalist aesthetic. Tata’s revolutionary two-spoke steering wheel with a touch panel, a fully digital instrument console, a floating touchscreen infotainment display, and touch-based HVAC controls are some of the highlights. Powered ORVMs, push-button start, wireless smartphone charging, and a panoramic sunroof are just a few of the noteworthy features that are anticipated to be offered.
Tata Curvv testing: Expected powertrain specifications
Curvy will be offered in both ICE and totally electric versions, just like Nexon and Punch. Curvv’s electric variant is anticipated to come in single- and dual-motor configurations. Whereas the latter will have all-wheel drive, the former will have front-wheel drive. The range for each will be between 400 and 500 kilometers on a single charge.
Expected to power the ICE Curvv will be a new 1.2-liter direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine, which made its debut at Auto Expo 2023. This motor has a maximum torque of 225 Nm and 123 horsepower. It’s expected that both manual and automatic transmissions will be available. Later on, a CNG version of the same drivetrain is anticipated to be added to the lineup. The ICE version of the coupe SUV is most likely the most recent test mule to be sighted.
