Battle of electric scooter: Bajaj Chetak vs. Ola S1 specifications compared

Electric scooter

A few days ago, Bajaj revamped the Chetak electric scooter, introducing the Premium and Urbane models, which start at Rs 1.15 lakh. The At Her 450 range and this Ola S1 range, both of the best-selling EV brands in India, are competitors of the upgraded EV. Let’s examine the specifications of the new Chetak models in relation to the Ola S1 Air or S1 Pro.

Electric scooter: Bajaj Chetak

As was previously noted, there are two variations of the Chetak: Urbane and Premium. The all-metal bodies of both electric scooters maintain their traditional appearance, but the features, battery pack, and other mechanical aspects are different. The entry-level Chetak Urbane variant keeps the 2.9kWh battery pack and adds a colour LCD instrument display.

With a 3.2kWh battery pack that can run the Chetak Premium for 127km at a maximum speed of 73 kmph, it has a bigger capacity. Along with additional amenities like hill hold assistance and phone connectivity, the Premium also receives a new TFT instrument console. The Chetal Urbane and Premium have additional technology in terms of electronics and communication and are offered in both regular and TecPac versions.

Ola S1

Three models of the Ola S1 are available: S1X, S1 Air, and S1 Pro. On the other hand, the S1 Air and Pro face up against the Chetak directly. The S1 range is built upon a modernised platform that replaces the previous single-sided suspension with a conventional telescopic one. With a 3kWh battery pack, the Ola S1 Air is said to have a 151km range. A 7-inch touch instrument console is also included with the S1 Air.

The S1 Pro is the highest-performing model; although it seems identical to the S1 Air from the outside, it has an extra 4kWh battery pack that provides greater range, faster acceleration, and a higher top speed. The 7-inch touchscreen TFT dash, smartphone connectivity, and other features are also included in the S1 Pro, along with an extra “Hyper” ride option.

Bajaj Chetak vs Ola S1 specifications

The Ola S1 appears to be faster, have a longer range, and have more features on paper, but the Chetak looks better and performs as one would expect from an electric scooter, in our opinion. If forced to choose, we would probably go for the Chetak even though either would be a good option.
